Attached is a copy of the subject publication which contains 
the official Geological Survey methods for the collection and 
analysis of aquatic biological and microbiological samples. 
The procedures described in this manual are to be used by all 
district and project personnel in the pursuance of aquatic 
biological studies, except where prior approval for 
modification has been obtained from the Chief, Quality of 
Water Branch.

Additional methods for the collection and analysis of 
biological samples, and modifications to methods included in 
this manual, will be prepared and distributed as outlined in 
Quality of Water Branch Technical Memorandum No. 73.14.

Additional copies of this publication should be ordered 
through the normal Survey distribution system.
