Subject: WATER QUALITY: Analytical Methods - Carbon

The attached material describing analytical procedures for 
carbon analysis has been prepared by Ronald Malcom and the 
staff of the Organic Geochemistry Project and reviewed by the 
Organic Task Group. It is being distributed as a supplement 
to TWRI Book 5, Chapter A3, "Methods for analysis of organic 
substances in water," and replaces the section under Part II 
entitled "Carbon, all forms." Sections C and D as listed in 
the outline on the cover page are not included in the 
package, but will be distributed in the near future. Other 
revisions and additions to Book 5, Chapter A3 will be dis-
tributed as supplements until such time as a complete 
revision of Chapter A3 is justified.
