QUALITY OF WATER BRANCH MEMORANDUM NO. 72.03

Subject: WATER QUALITY--Analytical methods

Water Resources Division Memorandum No. 71.72 dated 
November 24, 1970, outlined Division policy regarding.the use 
of analytical methods by Division laboratories and 
established procedures for recommending new or improved 
methods for Division use.

In accordance with these established procedures, an 
analytical method for the determination of mercury not 
contained in the inorganic analytical methods manual (TWRI, 
Book 5, Chapter Al) has been approved for use by all Division 
laboralories. This method, flameless atomic-absorption method 
for the determination of mercury (copy attached), should be 
added to the manual.
