Subject: WATER ANALYSIS - Determination of arsenic

Enclosed is a copy of a modified procedure for the 
determination of arsenic which should replace the method now 
in the manual. The modified method is based on development 
work in the Denver Methods Development laboratory resulting 
from suggestions by the Austin laboratory. The increased 
sensitivity to about 1 ug/l is a substantial improvement over 
the present method, although the general principles are 
essentially the same.

A standard reference sample will be circulated to 
laboratories as soon as experience has been gained in the use 
of the method.
