WATER QUALITY - Analytical methods March 29, 1971 QUALITY OF WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM 71.06 Subject: WATER QUALITY - Analytical methods Water Resources Division Memorandum No. 71.72 dated November 24, 1970, outlined Division policy regarding the use of analytical methods by Division laboratories and established procedures for recommending new or improved methods for Division use. Two methods not contained in the manual for inorganic analytical methods (TWRI, Book 5, Chapter Al) have been tested and approved by the Analytical Methods Unit and the Branch for immediate use by all Division laboratories. These methods, the mercuric thiocyanate colorimetric method for the determination of chloride and the SPADNS method for the determination of fluoride (copies attached), should be added to the manual.
