Subject:    Notice to Promote Cableway Safety at Field Sites

Please have the appropriate person on your staff complete a copy
of the attached notice for each cableway and post the notice in
the recorder shelter for the station at which the cableway is
located.  You may want to have the notice laminated or mounted
on a board to make it more noticeable.

Also attached is the draft of a letter which we suggest you
modify or rewrite to your style and send to each employee in your
District who might use a cableway.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Subject: Safety in Measuring from Cableways

A notice is being placed in each recorder shelter of gaging stations
at which a cableway is being used for measurement.  Please read the
notice each time you use the cableway.  Let it be a reminder to help
us accomplish our work safely.  The notice will only be a useful tool
if you use it.  Remember, it is your life and health the notice is
trying to protect.
