Subject:  SAFETY--Nondestructive Testing of Cableways

We questioned the Office of Procurement and Contracts on whether we
should develop one large contract for nondestructive testing and
inspection of our cableways or whether we should continue with the
mechanism we have in place (see attached memo).  The Office of
Procurement and Contracts advised us to continue with the mechanism
we now have in place which allows each District to make arrangements
directly with Halkin Services.  Purchase orders may be issued directly
by the District offices for services up to $2,500.  Above $2,500, the
purchase order should be issued by the Small Purchasing Section of your
Regional Procurement Office.
