OFFICE OF SURFACE WATER TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 88.02
Subject: PROGRAMS AND PLANS--American Society of Civil Engineers
(ASCE) Request for Case Studies that
Demonstrate the Importance of Water
Data
In the May 1987 issue of ASCE News, ASCE requested information
from organizations and individuals on "your use of basic water
flow data." They expressed concern that budgets for water data
collection have been declining in the face of increased "pressure
to provide more data in order to study new problem areas in acid
rain and ground water." In the November 1987 issue of ASCE News,
a progress report was given and another request for case studies
was made. Copies of these two articles are attached.
The purpose of this memorandum is to bring these requests to your
attention. We would be interested in learning of any responses
that your cooperators have submitted or plan to submit in response
to the request of ASCE.
