Subject:  PROGRAMS AND PLANS - Maintenance of Streamflow and Basin
          Characteristics Computer File

The enclosed user's guide for program J763 permits you to
ascertain the complete contents of the file for each station
within a specified range of station numbers, and if desired,
limited to selected district(s) and/or State(s).  This new
capability of reviewing the file contents greatly enhances use and
updating of the file.

Two other user's guides for this file are in preparation.  These
guides will describe how to obtain a list of stations in the file
and how to obtain output from the file, in card-image form, for
selected stations and variables, on cards, tape, or disk.

Please refer to Water Resources Division Memorandum No. 74.127 for
information on operation and maintenance of the file.
