MEMORANDUM
February 6, 2002
To: District Chiefs and Data Chiefs
From: Stephen F. Blanchard /signed/
Acting Chief, Office of Information
Subject: Providing Recognition of Cooperator's Contributions on NWISWeb Pages
The USGS values the relationship and contributions our cooperators provide
to our data-collection network. It is important the we recognize their
contribution by providing credit or acknowledgement on applicable NWISWeb
pages. Cooperator acknowledgements as well as other textual messages, can
be presented on NWISWeb pages at one or more levels: (1) on all pages
associated with a specific State; (2) on introduction pages for individual
data categories for a State (real-time, SW, GW, or QW); (3) in
introduction files for real-time tables; or (4) on all pages for a
specific site. The Office of Information urges each district to include
appropriate acknowledgement of cooperators contributions on their NWISWeb
pages.
Examples from NWISWeb pages are given below along with links to the
relevant instructions for customizing the NWISWeb pages. Once your
NWISWeb maintainer has performed any customizations or changes to existing
customizations, the new information is detected automatically every 5
minutes and pushed to the remote webservers. Should you have any
questions, please send email to gs-w support NWISWeb.
