Subject: NWQL Income and Workload Estimate Program Launch and Request
In an effort to continually improve our customer service and overall
efficiency the NWQL has been developing a web-based Online Income and
Workload Estimate program to replace the current process in AIS Detail
Budget - Laboratory. Positive advantages to the web-based program that
will benefit both the District and NWQL include: reducing data entry
requirements; accessing real time analytical costs; and providing NWQL
with the ability to develop income and workload estimates for planning
analytical requirements (i.e., staff planning during peak periods,
supplies, etc.)
During January of this year, a district from each region participated in
online testing. The end result was very positive.
At this time the NWQL is ready to implement the new program, but we also
realize that with half of the fiscal year gone some districts have already
entered their information into AIS. Below is our proposal for
accomplishing the required FY2001 estimate submission to the NWQL:
A. New and/or updated estimates for FY2001 are due to the NWQL by
May 25, 2001.
B. For those Districts who have not entered or generated laboratory
budget information in AIS for FY01, the NWQL requests that you use this
new system. Then the sum total of the information for the project account
number from this system can be entered to AIS at the Budget Summary level
for Management Category OCL (Central Laboratory).
Districts will not have to populate the AIS Budget Detail Laboratory at
the detail level, or transfer their summary estimate in AIS.
A copy of the instructions are attached at the bottom of this email
explaining the procedures for using the estimate/workload system,
available reports (cost center and project level), and generation of the
NWQL agreement.

Data Entry Problems Merilee Bennett (mbennett) 303-236-3531

C. Districts, who have already populated AIS, please transfer their
estimates and forward a copy of the NWQL agreement by the above date.
Agreements should be forwarded to the NWQL Administrative Officer, MS-402
D. FY2002: Upon release of the FY2002 Pricelist, an additional option will
be added to the login screen which will allow projects the capability to
begin entering and estimating FY2002 laboratory costs.
NWQL's intention is to fully implement this program in FY2002 in place of
current AIS requirements.
