I am pleased to announce the addition of Beth Bradford to the Safety and

provide program assistance in areas such as air quality, respiratory
protection, hearing conservation, ergonomics and medical monitoring. The

Beth comes to us from the Department of the Army and has been working in
the field of environmental safety and health for the past 11 years. She
served as an Environmental Science Officer while on active duty in the
Army from 1990-1994, working as both a staff Industrial Hygienist at the
Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, Fort Meade, Maryland,
and as the Medical Department Activities' (MEDDAC) Environmental Science
Officer at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. After leaving active duty, she was
employed as the Hospital Safety Manager and Industrial Hygienist at the
Patterson Army Hospital, Fort Monmouth from
1995-1998. From 1998-2000 she was responsible for the Industrial Hygiene
and Environmental Programs for the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Bath,
New York. In 2001 she returned to the MEDDAC at Fort Monmouth as the
Chief of Industrial Hygiene until her transfer here in February. Beth
brings to us expertise in ergonomics, respiratory protection, indoor air

team.
Please join me in welcoming Beth on board. We are looking forward to the
many contributions that she will make to the future of the USGS Safety,
Health and Environmental Program. Beth can be reached at
