Strategic Change Decisions and Implementation NOTE TO SUPERVISORS, MANAGERS, AND TEAM LEADERS: Please ensure that employees without access to e-mail receive a copy of this message. Memorandum To: All USGS Employees From: Charles G. Groat Director Subject: Strategic Change – Decisions and Implementation Beginning this week at a series of workshops in the three regions and headquarters, I will describe the strategic changes that the USGS will undertake over the next few years and our initial approach for implementation of these changes. These decisions are available to you on the USGS Intranet in both text and audio format. In addition, you will have the opportunity to submit questions related to these strategic change decisions. I encourage each of you to take a few moments to review the information. Each of you will play a key role in ensuring that these changes are successful. I am confident that these changes will further improve the relevance and quality of our science and enhance the resources available to support it. I am optimistic about the future of the USGS. I know that together, with your help, we will be stronger, more dynamic, more capable, and ready to meet the challenges of the new century by keeping science first.
