MEMORANDUM
To: U.S. Geological Survey Employees
From: Robert Hosenfeld (signed)
Personnel Officer
Subject: Federal Leave Administration
Do you need to take time off work for personal, family, or medical needs?
Are you confused about which leave category to use for your absence? New
fact sheets covering a wide range of Federal employee leave rules and
regulations are now available from the Office of Personnel Management's
website on leave administration. Covering the full range of categories
including annual leave, sick leave, court leave, bone-marrow and organ
donor leave, family leave, and leave transfer. These fact sheets are
concise, one-page information resources that clearly explain each of the
Federal leave programs. To review the fact sheets, simply click on
http://www.opm.gov/oca/leave/HTM/factindx.HTM and select the leave
categories that are of interest to you.
Information about various special Federal leave programs can also be found
at http://www.usgs.gov:8888/ops/hro/benefits/leave.html. This website
includes forms for requesting leave, approving restored
leave, donating leave, and applying to become a leave share recipient. The
site also includes the current list of U.S. Geological Survey employees
participating in the Federal Leave Share Program.
Please call the employee relations staff in your servicing personnel
office if you want to
discuss any of the programs addressed in these websites or any other leave
issues.
