Pieritz Acting Personnel Officer Subject: Employee Express Employee Express is an automated system which gives employees the freedom to make changes to a variety of personnel and payroll records from work or in the privacy of your home, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Changes which should be made through Employee Express are as follows: Federal Taxes To claim 10 or more exemptions, see your servicing personnel office. State Taxes (1) Employees who live in Missouri, Mississippi, and Alabama and/or who move from one state to another, but do not change duty station, should make changes through their servicing personnel office. (2) To claim 10 or more exceptions, see your servicing personnel office. Direct Deposit You will need your account and financial institution routing numbers. Your financial institution can provide the routing number. Address changes This will update your address for all of your personnel and payroll records, to include your Leave and Earnings Statement, tax forms, and Thrift Savings Plan. Thrift Savings Plan (1) During Open Season: You can start, change amount, and/or allocate future contributions. (2) Outside Open Season: You can stop your contributions anytime. Health Benefits (1) During Open Season: You can change your health care provider and/or from self only to family. (2) Outside Open Season: You can change from family to self only and cancel your enrollment. (3) All other changes must be made through your servicing personnel office by completing a Health Benefits Enrollment Form, SF-2809. To use Employee Express you will need your Social Security Number and Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your Employee Express PIN is six digits and should not be confused with your Thrift Savings Plan PIN, which is four digits. You may access Employee Express by calling toll-free at 1-800-827-6254 or via the Internet at http://www.employeeexpress.gov If you do not have a PIN, you may call 1-800-827-6254 and request a new one be mailed to you. The automated system will ask you to state your name, social security number, and address. If the information you provide matches the information they have on file, a new PIN will be mailed to you within 5-10 days. Overall, we feel that Employee Express has been a successful tool for employees throughout the U. S. Geological Survey. The few problems which have been encountered and reported to this office have been quickly resolved.
