Subject: NT SWAT Program

The Distributed Information Program Office (DIS announces an NT SWAT
Program designed to assist WRD offices with the integration of their
Windows NT network and related technology.  The goals of the NT SWAT
Program are to assure that new equipment and software are configured
properly and to provide consistency with other WRD offices.  DIS will
accept requests and organize members of the DIS sponsored NT TAC to
participate in the SWAT.

The SWAT program will focus on installation and configuration of:

 -- Microsoft Windows NT Servers
 -- Microsoft Windows NT Workstations
 -- Microsoft Windows NT Terminal Servers (WinCenter Upgrade)
 -- Resource sharing between Unix & NT (PCNFS and Samba)
 -- Printers
 -- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
 -- Netscape Communicator
 -- Network Associates McAfee Virus Protection Software
 -- UltraBac Data Backup & Restoration Software
 -- Reflection X suite
 -- Remote computing & access solutions
 -- Other specific needs of a WRD office

The SWAT Program process will include a pre-visit interview to determine
the extent of the work that will be required. A checklist of inventory
items will be taken to recommend the purchase of any equipment and
software that may be necessary prior to the SWAT. An orientation with
office staff and SWAT team members will take place upon arrival to
determine and schedule the priorities of the visit.

Two people from the NT TAC will participate in the SWAT, however, the
cost to the district will be

                (SALARY * 1.45) + Travel

for 1 SWAT team member.

Susan Trapanese, Chief of the Systems Support Unit in DIS will be the NT
