System Administrators From: "Samuel C Martinez, Computer Specialist, Denver, CO " To: "SA - All System Administrators" Date: Fri, 19 Feb 1999 15:59:11 -0700 Content-Disposition: inline System Administrators, The Branch of Quality Systems has developed a WWW on-line version of the Blind Sample Project's QADATA program. This WWW on-line QADATA program allows multiple users access to the Blind Sample Project (BSP) quality assurance data for the NWQL and the Ocala laboratory. This QADATA on-line WWW program features Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) technology that provides a customized SAS session running on Windows NT Terminal Server to be accessed via the WWW through our Internet Information Server (IIS) running on Windows NT Terminal Server. Data can be reviewed graphically on-line via control charts, precision charts, and boxplots; or the data and graphics can be downloaded and ftp'd to your site. This QADATA on-line WWW program is configured for USGS internal access only. Here is the new QADATA WWW on-line site: http://bqsnt.cr.usgs.gov/bsp User documentation on the QADATA program is available at: http://bqs.usgs.gov/bsp/qadatanew.htm TECHNICAL INFO: The QADATA program requires a Web Browser capable of handling Frames (Netscape Communicator 4.x Internet Explorer 4.x), and an ICA plug-in (Internet Explorer 4.x is preloaded with this plug-in). The first time a user attempts to connect to this http://bqsnt.cr.usgs.gov/bsp URL the system will automatically determine if an ICA plug-in is required, and if so will direct you to the Citrix WWW ICA plug-in site so that you can download the appropriate ICA plug-in. This ICA plug-in will need to be manually downloaded, and installed for each individual PC WWW browser requiring access to this site, and only once for both the UNIX and Windows Terminal Server systems running Netscape. Instructions for installing the WWW ICA client using can be found at: http://bqsnt/bsp/installing_www_ica.htm For questions concerning the QADATA program, please contact Amy Ludtke (asludtke@usgs.gov) or Sam Martinez (scmartin@usgs.gov).
