Subject:  Object Class for Intra/Inter Division Billings

The Office of Financial Management (OFM) has requested the discontinued
use of object classes 811A Intra-Division Billings and 811B
Inter-Division Billings.

The Water Resources Division cost centers expressed the need for the
Division to maintain one specific object class to be used in place of
these object classes.

After review of the current Budget Object Class Codes found in the FFS
Table (BOCT), object class  “253N Reimbursable Work – Intra Bureau” has
been chosen.  This object class should be used only when use of an
actual object class is determined to be administratively cumbersome
(i.e., one work effort involving salary, overhead, travel, supplies,
etc.).

The OFM object class listing
http://www.usgs.gov/usgs-manual/im/9804atch.html erroneously omitted
object class 253N from the list.  This has been reported to OFM for
correction.
