AMC Members:  At the November 17 meeting, there was a discussion about
awards hitting default account numbers.  The FPPS screens for award actions
contains a field for the account number to be charged; the field is
approximately 30 characters--long to accommodate all bureaus' account
number structures.  USGS must enter our 9-digit account number in the first
9 characters WITHOUT fiscal year and WITHOUT dashes.  The Personnel Office
thinks that this is the primary reason we're experiencing so many awards
appearing in the default payroll account numbers.  Please distribute this
