Announcement of a Web Site Electronic Bulletin Board for U.S.Geological Survey Employees Date: Fri, 19 Mar 1999 13:50:31 -0500 To: "USGS Employees" From: Carol Wippich Subject: Announcement of a Web Site Electronic Bulletin Board for U.S. Geological Survey Employees to participate in drafting a Surveywide Administrative and Technical Support Functions Vision Statement and Guiding Principles In Reply Refer To: Mail Stop 201 MEMORANDUM To: All U.S. Geological Survey Employees From: James C. Leupold /s/ Chief, Office of Program Support Subject: Announcement of a Web Site Electronic Bulletin Board for U.S.Geological Survey Employees to participate in drafting a Surveywide Administrative and Technical Support Functions Vision Statement and Guiding Principles The Office of Program Support (OPS) and the program divisions have agreed to develop a joint Surveywide Administrative and Technical Support Functions Vision Statement and guiding principles. A common vision statement and guiding principles can help to enhance cooperation among the divisions and OPS, strengthen the administrative and technical support partnership, create more incentive to develop common goals and objectives, and provide an opportunity to share resources for the benefit of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as a whole. An electronic bulletin board has been created to give all USGS employees an opportunity to participate in this effort. The bulletin board URL is: http://interactive.usgs.gov/ops_vision/. This bulletin board will give employees an easy way to submit their suggestions and allow everyone to see other suggestions and comments. The posting will be anonymous unless you choose to include your name in the "Name" field. OPS and the program divisions are planning a joint National Administration Meeting during the week of April 19-23, 1999, and at that meeting we plan to discuss this draft vision statement and guiding principles. Therefore, please submit any suggestions to the electronic bulletin board by April 12, 1999. If you have any questions on this effort, please contact John Caracciolo at (703) 648-7203 or send him e-mail at john_caracciolo@usgs.gov. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your participation.
