Sabatini Division Administrative Officer Subject: Water Resources Division Directory Information Update RESPONSE REQUESTED BY JULY 20, 1998 The Water Resources Division (WRD) will be printing a new WRD directory this summer. We plan to have the final version ready for the printer during August, and will be distributing the directories in October. Once again, only travel size directories are being printed. Full size directories may be pulled by your office at the following web site: http://wwwoper.er.usgs.gov/wrd-phone/ This email is a reminder of the importance of ensuring your cost center's information has been updated in the Administrative Information System (AIS) to ensure the directory is correct when sent to the printer. The requested response date will allow time for my office to complete a cursory review and to correct obvious mistakes prior to final printing. Headquarters does not plan to do a complete review of all directory information this year. Each office is responsible for ensuring that the directory information is correct. Your office can retrieve a copy of the directory at the following web site: http://wwwoper.er.usgs.gov/wrd-phone/state.index.html Please review your office listings prior to July 20, 1998. The information is generated nightly from Headquarters AIS. This information can be viewed in html format or as a Framemaker document (stated code followed by the suffix mif - e.g., CTmif for Connecticut). The major difference between the two formats is the presence of grade in the Framemaker document. Based on a majority opinion, we will continue to include grades in the directory; thank you for your responses on that subject. Make any necessary changes in your local AIS. The changes will be reflected on the web site the following day. Offices should check the web site to ensure that AIS changes were transferred and that the directory copy on the web site is updated. If you have questions, please read the instructions on how to update AIS that are located on the following web site: http://wwwoper.er.usgs.gov/wrd-phone/create.dir.html Should you need additional help, please send an email to ais_help. The entire WRD directory, in its Framemaker and postscript formats, will be updated on a weekly basis between now and July 20, 1998. This version of the directory will be sent to the printer. It can be pulled from the following web site: http://wwwoper.er.usgs.gov/wrd-phone/ Offices should email Patricia Powers (papowers) with the number of directories needed for your office and notify her when your directory information update has been completed and verified.
