New arrangement for legislative liaison activities Date: Wed, 31 Dec 1997 12:04:27 -0500 To: "A - Division Chief and Staff", "B - Branch Chiefs and Offices", "DC - All District Chiefs" From: "James G. Peters" Subject: New arrangement for legislative liaison activities Cc: "Joanne C Taylor, Secretary (Typing), Reston, VA" , "Janet N Arneson, Secretary (Typing), Reston, VA" , "Jennifer B Ponton, Office Automation Clerk, Reston, VA" , "Wendy E Norton, Program Analyst, Reston, VA" , "Timothy J West, Reston, VA" , "Ray Munch, Computer Specialist, Reston, VA" , "James G Peters, Program Officer, Reston, VA" Last week Cathy Hill sent you an E-mail message announcing Linda Meadows' retirement and that many of Linda's responsibilities would be shifted to WRD's Program Office for which I am responsible. A new position in the Program Office, to assume some of these responsibilities and others, will be announced soon and the position filled in the next few months. For the next 2 months, we plan to have detailees attend to these duties, which include the weekly highlights report, requests for information from the field on congressional contacts, preparing responses to congressional inquiries, interacting with the Bureau's Legislative Liaison Office, etc. Joanne Taylor will be the first detailee during the month of January. We have established a new E-mail address (alias) called "wrd.liaison" for everyone to use in communicating with WRD Headquarters on Legislative Liaison activities. The alias has been established so that it won't be necessary to change E-mail addresses when detailees change or when the new position is filled permanently. The alias also allows several of us here at Headquarters to assess incoming mail on legislative issues. Beginning today mail sent to "wrd.liaison" will be checked daily by those of us in the Program Office with responsibility for dealing with these matters. Please note that this is NOT a E-mail address to be used for all things related to the Program Office; you should continue to contact Wendy or myself as usual on program matters. But for those times when you would have sent E-mail to "lmeadows" in the past, please use "wrd.liaison" now instead. If you have any questions about this arrangement, please send a them along to "wrd.liaison"- (smile).
