Hill /signed/ Assistant Chief Hydrologist for Operations Subject: Annual Safety Report RESPONSE REQUESTED BY OCTOBER 15, 1998 Each fiscal year, Water Resources Division (WRD) districts have been requested to submit an "Annual Safety Accomplishments and Goals" report. This year the report has been revised and renamed the "Annual Safety and Health Program Self-Evaluation." Each district is to complete the form and submit the report to their respective Regional Safety Officer by October 15, 1998. Information from these reports will be used in our annual safety report due to the bureau on October 31, 1998. The report can be found under "WRD District Safety Reporting Requirement" on the WRD Safety Homepage: http://wwwhif.er.usgs.gov/uo/safety.html The purpose of the Annual Safety and Health Program Self-Evaluation Report is to provide a comprehensive, uniform method for compiling this information across all WRD districts. This report will allow districts to identify strong points and areas needing improvement in their safety programs. Annual analyses of reports will assist Regional and Division Safety Managers in identifying priority problem areas on which to focus their efforts. The report was modeled after the annual safety program evaluation checklist developed by the U.S. Geological Survey Safety Office and modified by the Western Region. If you have any questions, please contact your Regional Safety Officer. Copy To: District Safety Officers Regional Safety Officers
