Hale, currently the District Chief in Georgia, will be reassigned as the Southeastern Region's Program Officer effective November 17. Tim began his career with the U.S. Geological Survey in the Georgia District as a Student Trainee in 1966 while completing his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. After graduating, he worked in the Georgia District, specializing in the area of surface water. From 1976 to 1979, Tim served in the Kentucky District as a project chief and then as the Chief of the Louisville Subdistrict. In 1979 he returned to Georgia and was assigned as the Chief of the Hydrologic Data Unit; then as Assistant District Chief, Hydrologic Analysis and Computer Applications Section; and finally as District Chief in 1991. Tim has made substantial contributions to the Division in many areas through a host of team and committee assignments including the Bureau's Strategic Planning Benchmark Team and the WRD's Strategic Planning effort. Tim brings to the Program Officer position successful experience in program planning and development in a large, complex district and years of experience in the Division's hydrologic data program.
