MEMORANDUM
December 22, 1997 To: Administrative Officers, Water Resources Division From: Kelly Bradley Chief, Financial Operations and Reporting Section Subject: Working Capital Fund (WCF) Customer Numbers Beginning in Fiscal Year 1998, new WCF customer numbers have been established in the Federal Financial System (FFS) and the Administrative Information System (AIS) for each fee-for-service and investment component. In past fiscal years the WCF used only two customer numbers. The fee-for-service components used customer number 25500 and the investment components used customer number 25501. The AIS funding transfer program requires a unique fund code for each customer number. Therefore, the customer numbers used in past fiscal years required manual manipulation to transfer multiple fund codes for individual customers to FFS. With the implementation of the new customer numbers, each fund code will have a separate customer number, eliminating any need for manual intervention. The following is a complete listing of all WCF customer numbers that have been established. Please note that customer numbers for NWQL and Equipment have remained the same. Old Customer New Customer Fund Components Number Number Code Fee-for Service: National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) 25500 25500 4556A Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) 25500 25504 4556B Eastern Region Research Laboratory (ERRL) 25500 25505 4556R Investment: Equipment 25501 25501 4556E Facilities 25501 25502 4556F Telecommunications 25501 25503 4556D Page 2 For all prior year investment plans (IP's) that require no further contribution in FY 1998, FFS will remain the same and the agreement will retain the old customer number (25500 or 25501). IP's with contributions made in prior fiscal years and contributions scheduled for FY 1998 will require changes to be made in AIS (cost center level, the agreement header and detail, and funding) to reflect the new customer number. Susan Clark of my office will coordinate these changes. Please e-mail to Susan (<) the agreement number to be changed, the old customer number, and the new customer number. IP's with contributions to be made in FY 1998 and future can be corrected by the site changing the customer number in the agreement header.
