I just wanted to follow up on the comment raised at this morning's meeting
about needing to make visual identity clothing and other materials
available to the field.  Earlier this week, OPS implemented an Internet
on-line ordering service, which enables Web-based account set-up and order
processing for VI materials and all other items stocked by the Reston
Self-Service Store.  Orders will be processed within 48 hours, & the Store
will ship orders via 7-10 day parcel service nationwide.  This site can be
reached at http://rssc.usgs.gov/  You can browse the catalog without
needing an account or pin number.

The VI Survey Manual chapter and ordering instructions are complete, and
printed copies will be provided to division Administrative Officers as soon
as available.  The on-line Survey Manual version is available at
http://www.usgs.gov:8888/usgs-manual/400/408-3.html. Any additional
internal ordering instructions would be handled through division processes.
  The VI Intranet page at
http://www.usgs.gov:8888/visual/clothing/index.html also includes order
forms and links to the Reston Self Service Store on-line order service.  VI
orders placed through the HIF One-Stop Shopping service
(http://1stop.usgs.gov/) are automatically forwarded to the Reston Store,
where orders are filled and shipped directly to the requestor.
