DOI Request for Update of FTS2000 Inventory Information Date: Sun, 19 Jul 1998 22:05:17 -0400 To: "AO - All Administrative Officers" From: "Alice A. Sabatini, Division Administrative Officer" Subject: DOI Request for Update of FTS2000 Inventory Information I know that you are very busy at this time of year, but please give this request your expedited attention. It is in our best interest to correct the AT&T data. The information is the "official" GSA-AT&T information that is used for all USGS FTS2000 telephone line inventory and billing issues. The Department has requested that each line be verified, that the current status for each line be entered into the listing file, and that the updated file be returned to DOI by August 15, 1998. The TSB has studied the listing which contains about 20,000 entries and has noted some obvious errors. These are undoubtedly some of the same errors that have been reported by the divisions. Since the listing is dated April 1, 1998, there are also changes that were transmitted to AT&T that do not appear in the file. The updating of this file and its return to the Department will constitute the creation of the new, correct, "official" telephone line database for the USGS. This in turn should generate correction to the erroneous GSA-AT&T inventory and billing reports. The update of the information will be a massive effort and will require input from most of the USGS locations nationwide. A team in TSB has been formed to work on this project and to contact each site within the next few weeks for verification of its telephone line information. The person contacted at each site will be the same as the FTS2000 billing hierarchy contact for that location. To make the process as efficient as possible, we will attempt to reach each contact person via e-mail that will include the inventory for that site, update instructions and return instructions. Because of the relatively short time frame, the requested turnaround time will be VERY QUICK. As an alert to your division personnel, could you please forward this e-mail to your site administrative officers. If you have any questions, please contact Ken Deyoe (703-648-7016, Kdeyoe@usgs.gov), or me (703-648-7012, Kschabacker@usgs.gov). Thank you. -Kathy ----- Kathy Schabacker, USGS E-Mail: KSchabacker@usgs.gov Tel: 703-648-7012 Fax: 703-648-4250 ----- <<<<
