Hill /signed/ Assistant Chief Hydrologist for Operations Subject: Availability of the Targeted Recruitment Plan for Hydrologists and Hydrologic Technicians on the World Wide Web The Targeted Recruitment Plan for Hydrologists and Hydrologic Technicians, previously distributed at the National District Chiefs meeting, is now available on the World Wide Web at http://wwwoper.er.usgs.gov/personnel-info. This plan includes sections on the needs for strategic recruitment planning, a 7-step recruitment action plan to establish and maintain effective high school/college relations in order to increase the number of women and minority candidates in applicant pools; recruitment tools; and frequently asked questions about targeted recruitment. Also included in the plan are five appendices - a list of major occupations which are under-represented in WRD; a resource list of recruitment sources; a Tool Box to provide managers and supervisors with information that exists to help them recruit and hire employees; the Fort Valley State University- Cooperative Development Energy Program; and the Diversity Improvement Form used for all under-represented occupations to be filled as permanent, term or SCEP appointments bureauwide.
