Scott's Reassignment to YMPB The Yucca Mountain Project Branch (YMPB) is pleased to announce the reassignment of William B. Scott from the position of Subdistrict Chief, Miami, Florida to a Hydrologist, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The position Bill will be filling is responsible for Yucca Mountain Project wide planning and integration of all hydrologic and climatic studies as they pertain to the Yucca Mountain work. Bill began his career with the Survey in 1973 as a Hydrologist with the Miami Subdistrict, after completing his Master's Degree from the University of Florida. For the next 10 years, Bill continued his education and served on special projects until finding himself transferred to the Nevada Distric Project Office in Las Vegas, NV. While in Nevada, Bill served as Manager of the Weapons Testing Hydrology Program (WTHP) at the Nevada Test Site (NTS). In October of 1989, Bill was named Subdistrict Chief of the newly established Las Vegas Subdistrict Office located in Las Vegas, NV where he worked until his transfer to the position of Chief of the Miami Subdistrict. Bill brings to the YMPB extensive knowledge of Hydrology as it relates to the NTS. His past work as liaison with Department of Energy (DOE), its contractors, and other consultants in all matters pertaining to the hydro geology of the NTS are a valuable asset to the mission of the project.
