Wade (signed) Assistant Chief Hydrologist for Water Information Subject: Relocation of Geohydrologic Map Editor Duties/Responsibilities As a result of the Office of Water Information's (OWI) continuing efforts to streamline the formal series publications process, the Geohydrologic Map Editor (GME) position has been moved from OWI, Reston, to the Cartographic and Publications Program in Madison, Wisconsin. The GME duties and responsibilities are being assumed by Wendy Danchuk. Wendy is a cartographer with 20 years of publications experience working with district and national-level projects in WRD. Her most recent activities include being the cartographic design and production leader for the Ground Water Atlas of the United States and participating on the bureau visual identity team. Beginning immediately, all Professional Papers, Circulars, Techniques of Water Resources Investigations, Bulletins, Miscellaneous Investigations Maps, Hydrologic Atlases, and the occasional Water-Supply Paper should be sent to Wendy Danchuk for GME review after colleague review and prior to or concurrent with submitting the report for Director's approval. Wendy will review the report to identify any potential problems with the illustrations and provide design suggestions to assist subsequent production processes. Materials to send for GME review include a high-quality paper proof of all illustrations, a copy of the text, the authors mill copy, and any review comments received. Please include information about the intended audience of the report and a point of contact for technical questions.
