On March 4, 1997, the National Center experienced several power outages 
due to building equipment malfunction, affecting electric service 
throughout the building.  Repairs to this equipment have been completed 
and additional outages are not anticipated.  However, additional  
equipment tests are required.    

We will conduct the tests beginning at 8:00 p.m. on March 6 and 
continuing until 4:00 a.m.on March 7.  Since electric interruptions are 
possible during the testing, we request that you power down all critical 
electrical equipment in your labs and offices prior to this test period.

We apologize for the March 4 power interruptions and the short notice 
for these additional tests.
