Correct Date for Use of Restored Leave From: "Cynthia S Wylie, Reston, VA" Message-Id: <970211080852.ZM3534@cwylie> Date: Tue, 11 Feb 1997 08:08:51 -0400 X-Mailer: Z-Mail 4.0.1 (4.0.1 Apr 9 1996) To: "USGS Employees" Subject: Correct Date for Use of Restored Leave Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Last year, many employees had annual leave restored to them that was not taken because of the furlough. The information given to employees at that time stated that the restored leave must be used by January 3, 1998, or it would be forfeited forever. However, that date is not correct. The correct date for use of leave restored because of the furlough is January 2, 1999 . If you still have a restored leave balance from the furlough, you have until that date to use the leave. Be sure to notify your timekeeper when you are using restored leave so the absence can be properly coded on the Time and Attendance Report. If you retire or resign before you use the leave in your restored leave account, you can be paid for that leave along with other unused annual leave.
