Calls from the field indicate that this information has not been disseminated to all levels. Additionally, Information Request/Transmittal Number 97-7 from the Chief, Procurement Policy Branch, dated February 20, 1997, provided notification and guidance. A waiver must be obtained from the cognizant GPO Central or Regional Printing Procurement Office prior to using a commercial source for requirements of $1000 or less. Waivers may be acquired via telephone or fax. A list of central and regional GPO offices is available on internet at http://www.access.gpo.gov/procurement/pp002.html. For duplicating jobs purely of an administrative nature routinely required within 24 hours that cannot be provided by GPO, consideration will be given to the issuance of a blanket waiver. These waivers can be requested by writing the nearest GPO office with the supporting details.
