Patrick Leahy Chief Geologist, Geologic Division Subject: Reorganization of the Geologic Division The Geologic Division has reorganized along a truly regional structure that puts management of scientific activities at the regional level. The Division anticipates that this new Division structure will help ensure good coordination of regional and national program activities and will facilitate interdivisional partnerships. The Acting Regional Geologists will oversee and coordinate the scientific efforts conducted in the three USGS regions. Nancy Milton, Eastern Region, Tom Fouch, Central Region, and Bill Normark, Western Region are theActing Regional Geologists. The Division recently selected the 16 Chief Scientists who as leaders of the scientific teams will be the Geologic Division's first line managers and report to their respective Regional Geologist.
