NTC cancellation charge To: "A - Division Chief and Staff", "B - Branch Chiefs and Offices", "FO - State, District, Subdistrict and other Field Offices", "AO - All Administrative Officers", "AE - Administrative Employees" cc: ntc@ntc1serv.cr.usgs.gov Subject: NTC cancellation charge Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Date: Fri, 13 Sep 1996 22:41:18 +0000 From: "William J Shampine, Chief, Br. Tech Dev & Qual Sys, Denver, CO" The NTC historically has had a cancellation charge policy although it never has been enforced. The announcement of the policy has been included in all of the individual course announcements, but apparently many people are so used to the boilerplate info that they are not "seeing" it. This email is to notify you that we intend to enforce the policy beginning in FY 97. The policy is as follows: "If a nominee cancels out of a course within 30 calendar days of the start of the course and a replacement cannot be identified, his or her office will be charged a portion of the equalization fee. The charge is designed to cover the costs incurred by the NTC and will include any instructor and materials charges and half of the administrative charge. If a nominee is unable to attend the course, it is the responsibility of his or her office to find a replacement to fill the cancelled position. If a replacement is not available, please contact the NTC to see if a replacement nominee is available from a waiting list." I hope this will clarify the policy. If you have any questions, please contact either myself or Paula Leshinski, the Branch AO. Bill Shampine
