information memo to FPPS users To: "AO - All Administrative Officers" cc: "Calvin L Togans, WRD Progr Suprt Spec., Reston, VA" , "Barbara J Gunderson, Human Resources Mgmt. Asst., Reston, VA" Subject: information memo to FPPS users Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Date: Wed, 31 Jan 1996 11:18:41 -0500 From: "Barbara J Gunderson, Human Resources Mgmt. Asst., Reston, VA" To All Administrative Officers and FPPS Users: Federal Personnel/Payroll System (FPPS) users that have "Authorizing" access will be able to utilize a different tracking system on the status of actions. Currently you have the "TRAK" option. You will now notice a "TRAC" option in the same column. You access this option the same way you did with "TRAK". When those actions you request come on the screen, you can either "VIEW" (V) them or check the "STATUS/HISTORY" (I). If you select "V" beside the desired action, a pop-up window will appear. If you place an "X" beside the first 10 spaces, you will be able to view the entire contents of the action from the Requesting Office (RO) side to the Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) side regardless of grade. You can, of course, put an "X" beside all the blank spaces if you want to view all the screens. Please pay special attention to the proposed effective date from the Requesting Office side as the effective date on the Servicing Personnel Office side may be different. The Personnel Office will always try to keep the effective date you request, but sometimes this is not possible, especially when trying to effect actions in the middle of a pay period or entering actions a day or two before the desired effective date. In these cases, the Personnel Office will hold that action and make the effective date for the following pay period. If you select the "STATUS/HISTORY" option, you will see when the SF-52 was approved and when it was sent to PAYPERS. This most likely will be more beneficial to you when determining the effective date of your actions. You can also use the "TRAC" option to list all completed actions regardless of grade. After entering the "TRAC" command, you enter "L" (list) and "C" (completed) and hit the enter key. This will bring up all completed actions within your FPPS profile. You can change the year requested also. The furthest back you can go would be 1994. I also wanted to mention that your Regional Human Resources Reps now have the authority to reset passwords. So if you get revoked, please give them a call and they can help you out. As always, if you have any questions or problems, please give me a call at 703-648-5245 or email me at BJGUNDER. Thanks....
