Inclusion of National Research Program Branch Chiefs in Regional Council Activities In Reply Refer To: Mail Stop 436 MEMORANDUM June 5, 1996 To: Regional Hydrologist, NR, SR, CR, WR From: Robert M. Hirsch /signed/ Chief Hydrologist Subject: Inclusion of National Research Program Branch Chiefs in Regional Council Activities The Regional Council structure established by the Director is aimed at facilitating interdivisional cooperation, coordination and integration of programs, improvement in the provision of common services, and development of facilities management plans. The National Research Program staff can play an important role in such interdivisional activities, and can be significantly impacted by decisions made at the Regional Council meetings. I am asking that the Branch Chiefs be included in meetings when new program ideas are discussed, and that copies of the minutes and handouts of Regional Council meetings routinely be sent to them. This measure will help facilitate greater intradivisional and interdivisional communication, a common goal of all operating units in the bureau.
