In addition, operation of all rain gages is to be discontinued on April 1, 1996. The funding that will be entered into CBR Table 3 for District operation of the HBN stations is shown in a framemaker file that can be fetched via anonymous ftp: ftp 130.11.50.18 login: anonymous password: userid cd pub/benchmark type binary get hbn96.cbr.fm bye There was a large variance in funds requested by Districts for publication and equipment and supplies. Fixed costs were assigned to all sites based on an average of the costs submitted as follows: Publication of data in the annual data report: $ 420 (8 hrs for data review + 4 hrs for tabling and preparing the data x $35/hr = $420) Equipment and Supplies: $1500 (includes costs for capsule filters, bottles, preservatives, gloves, buffers, standards, bacteria supplies, etc. for 2 samples) Salary for processing one field blank: $100 (2 people x 1.5 hrs x $35 = $105) Rain gage funding is for October 1, 1995 - March 31, 1996. Stream gage funding is for the entire fiscal year. Under Miscellaneous funding, the Ohio District received $4,250 for operation of a monitor during the first quarter of FY96 and the Virginia District received $2,850 for operation of additional gages in the HBN basin during the first quarter of FY96. These activities are now discontinued. Please direct questions about funding or HBN station operation to Kathy Fitzgerald (email to kkfitz or phone 703-648-6902). A CBR request will be issued in March requesting Districts to enter funding requests for all CBR programs. Please use these funds for the CBR Table 3 requests. Funding will be entered into the CBR tables in AIS sometime in March after all CBR funding is finalized. David A. Rickert
