Subject:  Chief, Yucca Mountain Project Branch

I am pleased to announce that Robert W. Craig has been appointed as Chief
of the Yucca Mountain Project Branch and Technical Project Officer (TPO). 
Bob has been acting in these positions since August 20, 1995.  He will
remain in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will travel to Denver, as necessary, to
maintain needed contacts with the staff there.  

Bob is well known to the Yucca Mountain Project Branch staff.  Bob started
as a hydrologist in 1982 on the saturated zone project; in 1985, he moved
to the unsaturated zone project; in 1988, he became the testing
coordinator; and in 1991, he accepted the position of Chief of the Nevada
Operations Program and Deputy TPO.  Please give Bob your best support as he
continues in this challenging position and as he leads the Yucca Mountain
Project during these times of political and programmatic uncertainties.
