Hirsch (signed) Chief Hydrologist Subject: Annual Water Resources Data Reports Thus far, fiscal year 1996 has been a year of challenges, uncertainities, and shifting priorities for the Division. When the furloughs ended in January, our Districts were asked to work even harder to meet cooperator expectations and to clean up the backlog of work that resulted from the furloughs, including preparation of the Annual Water Resources Data Reports. I would like to recognize those Districts that were able to get their District Annual Water Resources Data Report to the printer by June 1, 1996 (see attachment). Thank you for the extra effort that it took to get the Division's most widely recognized product to the printer on time. It is extraordinary efforts, such as these, that build and strengthen customer support and recognition for the U.S. Geological Survey as a credible and responsive earth science agency.
