As announced in the September Benchmark Notes, the Library Issues Team wants comments on current and potential USGS library services. The Team is reviewing the USGS Library System and other library services available in the USGS and will report findings and recommendations to the Operations Council. Your input will help the team recommend ways to streamline and vitalize library services. Some questions you might consider are: 1. Which library do you use and for what services? 2. What do you most appreciate about the library? 3. What would you like to change? 4. Should the Reston GD-operated library be made a Bureau activity? 5. Should library and information activities within the USGS be consolidated? 6. How can the system o improve services o reduce costs o augment funds? Send your input as soon as possible by e-mail to library_issues@usgs.gov and it will be reviewed by team members.
