Update on Payroll Issues To: "E - All WRD Employees" Subject: Update on Payroll Issues Date: Tue, 16 Jan 1996 16:44:46 -0500 From: "Alice A Sabatini, Administrative Officer, Reston, VA" An employee from the Bureau of Reclamation payroll office provided me with this update today. Pay period 01 final checks have been processed and should be deposited in banks on Wednesday or Thursday. The time and attendance reports for PP01 were processed last week to calculate the actual pay due employees. The estimated payments (65% of 40 hours times 2) will be credited against the amount owed and appear on the leave and earnings statement as a payment outside PAYPERS (probably using hours code 64A). If the resulting net is a positive number, another check will be generated for the employee. If the resulting net is a negative number (indicating that the estimates were an overpayment), no check will be generated. The USGS Office of Financial Management will bill each employee that received an overpayment for pay period 01 via form DI-1040, Bill for Collection. The employee will be required to submit a personal check to repay the overpayment of salary. Pay period 02 checks have been processed and should be deposited in banks on Thursday. Leave and earnings statements for both pay period 01 and 02 have not been printed yet. They will be printed and distributed by next week. No decisions have been made on the use or lose leave issue. No guidance on preparing corrected time and attendance reports for pay periods 01 and 02 has been developed. We will provide an update on these issues as soon as more is known. Your continued patience is appreciated.
