     From: P. Patrick Leahy

Subject: New Program Coordinators and Chief Scientists

I am extremely pleased to be able to report to you the names of our
new Program Coordinators and Chief Scientists. Though our list is not
yet entirely complete, I felt it important to inform you of the
selections that have been made to date. The individuals selected for
these positions are an outstanding group of accomplished scientists.
Whether working individually within teams and offices or together
through program and regional councils, it is my belief that this group
has the necessary skills and capabilities to ably lead our Division
     into the 21st Century.

Our goal is to make most of the new assignments effective within the
next few weeks. Some of the selections involve change of
headquarters; though these individuals may not be completely
relocated for some months, they will assume their new duties prior to
     moving.

I would like to thank all of you who expressed an interest in these
rotational management positions. Though not all of you could be
selected, your interest and willingness to participate in the
leadership process of the Division is greatly appreciated. I would
also like to thank all of you who participated on the panels that
