Subject:      Commemorative Event for the U.S. Bureau of Mines

NOTE TO SUPERVISORS: Please ensure that all employees without E-Mail
access receives a copy of this All Employee Message.

On December 13 at 10:00 AM the Department will host an event in the MIB
Auditorium to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of the
U.S. Bureau of Mines prior to its closure in early January.  Secretary
Bruce Babbitt, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Patty
Beneke, Director Rhea Graham, and guests from Interior, other
departments, and the private sector will speak and participate in a
commemorative presentation.  All Department employees are invited to attend
and express their appreciation for the contributions of the Bureau and its
employees.
