UPDATE---Science Camp 96 To: "USGS Employees at Headquarters" From: "Susan Russell-Robinson, Reston, VA " (Susan Russell-Robinson) Subject: UPDATE---Science Camp 96 X-Mailer: Science Camp begins on Monday (June 24). This note includes a list of supplies we need and background information on the camp. BACKGROUND INFO There are 48 youngsters (ages 8 to 12) enrolled in each of four 2-week sessions. The Reston Association has hired a camp director (Maria Kelly), 8 counselor (one for every 6 youngsters) and an adult to drive the van that will shuttle the youngsters to swimming, boating, local field trips, and so on. The campers will use the Visitors Center, the Hands-on Room, and Science Hall and selected sites outside. The outside locations have been named and you'll see banners hanging near the picnic tables set at each of these sites: Neutron Circle, Science Coliseum, Discovery Hill, and Explorers Cave. The campers will be easy to identify: they wear bright yellow t-shirts with Reston Assocation Camp across the front. The counselors wear similar shirts in aqua. During each morning there will also be 2 or 3 counselors-in-training on site learning about the responsibilities of a counselor.
