Inderbitzen Chief, Technology Transfer Subject: Clarifications to the Call for Proposals for 1997 Projects to Develop New Technologies In response to questions asked by potential participants and the soon to be implemented new Bureau Assessment Policy, we offer the following clarifications to the September 5, 1996, call for proposals. 1)Under "How to Apply," item 8, budget preparation, ignore the final sentence of the NOTE. It should read as follows: When preparing the budget for your project include all appropriate division assessments, which includes the bureau assessment. For the sake of accuracy, it is highly recommended that your proposal's budget be reviewed by your division's administrative officer prior to submittal to ensure that the appropriate assessments under the new system are included. 2)As with the call for proposals in 1995 and projects funded in 1996, all participants must be employees of the Department of the Interior. Contracts for specific products or services could be let under a project but they should represent only a small part of the overall project. 3)As with the call for proposals in 1995, all proposals must be approved and signed at the division level before submittal to your Business Enterprise Council representative. 4)There are two errata in the e-mail address listed for Business Enterprise Council representatives. The correct e-mail addresses are: Ozzie Girard (GD) ozzieg@usgs.gov Rick MacDonald (OPS) rmacdon@usgs.gov
