Combined Federal Campaign 1995 Date: Wed, 01 Nov 1995 11:41:05 -0500 From: "C. J Huffman" To: "USGS Employees at Headquarters" Subject: Combined Federal Campaign 1995 In Reply Refer To: Mail Stop 601 MEMORANDUM To: All Reston Employees From: Gordon P. Eaton Director Subject: Combined Federal Campaign 1995 The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) for 1995 has begun. It is time again for us to take a few moments to consider the needs of others and to use the opportunity that the annual drive affords us to take positive steps in helping to meet those needs. Again this year, we in the U.S. Geological Survey have been touched by events which remind us of the importance of the many organizations supported through the CFC. Many of our coworkers are fighting the battle against cancer, heart diseases, and illnesses that leave them dependent on health care givers and facilities. The bombing in Oklahoma City was devasting to Federal employees and their families and we will never forget those heart wrenching scenes of families torn apart by the loss of their loved ones. Many of the organizations that provide the services and care during these tragic moments receive donations from Federal employees through the CFC. If we do not support them, who will? During the next few weeks, you will be contacted by a keyworker in your division and provided a pledge card and brochure. Although the CFC has recently received some criticism regarding the number and types of organizations allowed to participate, I encourage you to do as I have done; designate which organization you wish to receive your contributions. Please take the opportunity to help your family, friends, and fellow Federal employees by looking through the brochure and selecting organizations you will support during this year's Campaign either by payroll deduction or cash donation. Complete your pledge card with your choice(s) and return to your division keyworker. IT'S UP TO US!
