OFFICE OF WATER QUALITY TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 92.04
Subject: PUBLICATIONS--Revised Statement Regarding Dissolved
Trace-Element Data Production
This memorandum contains a revised statement on dissolved
trace element data to be included in the State annual data
reports. Revision was requested by the Assistant Chief
Hydrologist for Scientific Information Management who has
policy oversight of Water Resources Division publications.
While the statement for reports is revised, the reasons for
this statement, as discussed in the Office of Water Quality
(OWQ) Technical Memorandum 92.03, remain unchanged. Please
include the following statement in State annual data reports
for 1991:
"Historical and current (19xx) dissolved trace-element
concentrations are reported herein for water that was
collected, processed, and analyzed by using either
ultraclean or other than ultraclean techniques. If
ultraclean techniques were used, then those
concentrations are reported in nanograms per liter.
If other than ultraclean techniques were used, then
those concentrations are reported in micrograms per
liter and could reflect contamination introduced
during some phase of the procedure."
