Subject:  PUBLICATIONS--Guidelines for Use of Water Quality 
                        Monitors 

The subject document is a new chapter in the Techniques of 
Water Resources Investigations and is being released as Open-
File Report 83-681 pending final publication as Book 8, 
Chapter D1. 

This manual provides a number of alternative approaches to 
installing automatic water-quality monitoring systems based 
on over a decade of experience of Division hydrologists.  The 
transfer value to other water-quality monitoring equipment 
should make this manual useful to a number of other 
organizations. 

A limited number of additional copies are available from the 
Chief, Quality of Water Branch.
