Subject: REPORTS -- Book 5 Chapter Al TWRI

Under separate cover we are forwarding to District and 
Regional offices a limited supply of the subject publication 
which contains the official Geological Survey methods for 
analysis of water samples for inorganic minerals and gases.. 
Additional copies should be ordered through the normal Survey 
distribution system.

As directed in WRD Memorandum No. 71.72, Division 
laboratories will use only the procedures described in this 
manual for analysis of the substances covered, except where 
prior approval has been obtained from the Denver Methods 
Development Unit and Chief, Quality of Water Branch.
